Hiki was built for autistic, ADHD and neurodivergent people, and it deserves credit for that. Before it existed there was very little aimed at that community at all. If it's working for you, keep using it. This isn't a piece about why it's bad.

But people do search for alternatives, and usually for one of three reasons.

Reason one: the pool is small

Any platform built for a specific community runs into the same problem. The tighter the focus, the fewer people are on it, and the more that bites if you're outside a big city.

We're broader. Disabled Love Dates covers disability generally, and autistic members are a significant part of that rather than the entire premise. In practice that means more people to talk to, most of whom still understand neurodivergence, because a lot of them are neurodivergent too.

Whether that trade is worth it depends on what you want. A dedicated space has real value. So does having somebody to actually message on a Tuesday night.

Reason two: cost

This comes up a lot in the neurodivergent community, and it's a fair thing to care about. Employment rates for autistic adults are poor, and a subscription that's an easy yes for some people is genuinely out of reach for others.

Our free membership isn't a trial. You can build a full profile, verify your ID, browse every member, get daily matches, send a set number of messages a day, and reply to anything a paying member sends you. No card, no countdown, no expiry.

Upgrading gets you unlimited messaging and better filters. It's genuinely optional, and plenty of members never do it.

Reason three: app only

Hiki is an app. Some people prefer that. Others would rather use a proper keyboard, a bigger screen, or a device that isn't their phone.

We work in any browser on any device, and the site installs to your home screen if you want something app shaped. Native apps exist in selected markets too. Which matters more than it sounds if switching devices is part of how you manage energy.

Where Hiki is the better answer

If you specifically want a space that is only neurodivergent people, with everything designed around that single community, a dedicated app will feel more focused than we do. That's a real strength and we're not going to pretend otherwise.

If you want a bigger pool, a free tier that does something, and a browser option, that's where we're different.

No pressure either way

Joining us is free and takes a couple of minutes. Plenty of people are on more than one platform while they work out which suits them.

Common questions

Is Disabled Love Dates free?

Yes. A full profile, ID verification, browsing, daily matches and a set number of messages a day all cost nothing, and you don't need a card. Upgrading adds unlimited messaging and advanced filters.

Is it just for autistic people?

No. It's for disabled adults generally, and autistic members are a large part of that. That means a wider pool of people who still understand neurodivergence.

Do you have an app?

The site works in any browser and installs to your home screen like an app. Native iPhone and Android apps are available in selected markets.
